According to Sunderland Echo, Tonali and Willock have travelled for Wednesday’s Champions League last sixteen second leg against Barcelona at Spotify Camp Nou and could be involved. Willock, who left the 1-0 win at Chelsea on Saturday with a knock, will be assessed.

Howe added that Tonali is back with the group for the first time today and will train before a decision is taken on tomorrow.

Miley did not travel and will miss Sunderland’s visit. He had targeted Wednesday for a return but trained at home today and has been out since late January after a dead leg caused some muscle damage. A comeback is probably after the international break.

Howe said Newcastle are as confident as at any point this season and that he is the happiest he has been, hoping his side are peaking at the right time.
