Binghamton, NY (WIVT/WBGH): The New Beginning Apostolic Church’s Food Pantry received a grant from The Broome County Health Department’s Creating Healthy Schools and Communities initiative.
CHSC is a five-year initiative funded by the New York State Department of Health to create and support healthy lifestyles in high-needs communities.
With the money, New Beginning’s has upgraded from just tables displaying the food to shelves, new tables, cold storage, and organizational tools.

March is National Nutrition Month, so these organization tools include New Beginning’s labeling what each product is and their nutritional information.
The food pantry is located at 1288 Vestal Avenue in Binghamton and is open on the second and fourth Saturday of each month from noon to 2 p.m.
