As someone who has written about the best LED face masks and light therapy tools for a while now — carefully researching this category, speaking to experts, and trying out the top face mask innovations on the market — I was immediately invested in reviewing a particular skin gadget called the TheraFace Mask Glo as soon as it was released by the wellness tech giant Therabody in October 2025.
To be sure, Therabody already had a bestselling LED face mask dubbed the TheraFace Mask: priced at $649.99 and powered by 648 red, red + infrared, and blue lights. Its more affordable (at just $299.99 with the current sale) counterpart, the Glo, has less lights but offers slightly longer treatment times for maximum impact and was redesigned with greater user comfort in mind.

The TheraFace Mask Glo‘s big sales hook? It’s loved and used by none other than Kendall Jenner, who is Therabody’s latest celebrity ambassador and calls the Mask Glo a “must-have in [her] daily routine.”
“I’ve been using it for a few months now and can see such an improvement in my overall skin tone and texture — it’s like I’m getting a professional treatment anywhere, anytime,” Jenner shared in marketing copy. “Plus, I love how effortless it is.”
In light of this endorsement and the instantaneous hype that surrounded the budget-friendly release, I requested the mask and strapped it on as soon as it arrived to my doorstep: transforming into a futuristic-looking skin-health chaser in minutes.
Here is everything you need to know about the Therabody TheraFace Mask Glo‘s benefits, whether or not it actually works, how best to incorporate the mask into your daily routine, and more. It’s safe to say I now can’t be seen on my couch without the red-light contraption on my face (and I wouldn’t have it any other way).
What Does the Therabody TheraFace Mask Glo Do?
As one of the best recently unveiled selections in the booming LED face mask category, Therabody’s TheraFace Mask Glo makes a lot of promises… and actually delivers. The first thing to know: You won’t be exclusively getting red light therapy here, as the mask switches between red, infrared, and blue light modes throughout a standard, 12-minute cycle. While red-light wavelengths deliver improvements in the form of reduced inflammation, a decrease in wrinkles and fine lines, smoother skin texture, and faster wound healing, blue light is beneficial for anyone who considers themselves part of the acne-prone camp, seeing as how it’s been proven to penetrate the skin and kill acne-causing bacteria on the spot. Infrared light, on the other hand, stimulates collagen production for bouncier, more younger-looking skin.

Another point to note? Theraface’s latest beauty buy is “backed by the largest clinical study of any LED mask on the market,” per the brand — a 12-week study, to be exact, after which 80 percent of subjects reported an improvement in fine lines, 87 percent claimed their skin looked and felt tighter, and 86 percent walked away with reportedly more radiant and rejuvenated complexions.
One feature I personally didn’t expect to encounter (and so was pleasantly surprised by) is the presence of a massage function in the mask. Theragun’s VibraWave technology is delivered right through the device’s straps, boosting circulation and leading to a feeling of zen during daily sessions. There’s not a single other massage-equipped LED face mask available to purchase as we speak, so consider yourself lucky if you do end up getting the Mask Glo.
And if you’re someone who likes to move around a lot and multitask, rest assured that this will be very doable with the product, given that it’s completely cordless. Weight-wise, the Mask Glo clocks in at 514 grams, and its battery life is 60 minutes if you end up enabling the strap vibration option during your 12 minutes. The mask comes with USB-C charging and a protective eye shield — not only handy but essential — that will keep your sight protected the entire time.
It doesn’t skimp on coverage, either, “delivering clinically proven light therapy evenly across the entire face — unlike many LED masks that leave wrinkle-prone areas, where signs of aging often appear first, uncovered,” according to Therabody.
WWD Shop editors advise turning to the mask two to four times a week when you’re just starting out. As for how long you’ll have to wait until visible results arrive? “With at-home LED face masks, you might notice your complexion has an inner glow right after use,” Dr. Dendy Engleman, a leading, board-certified, NYC-based dermatologist, told WWD for an earlier story. “Other results will take longer and vary based on the individual. With regular use, you might start to notice changes after about four months.”
In other words, it takes time! But when I just began my journey with Therabody’s TheraFace Mask Glo, I was already able to confirm Dr. Engleman’s “inner glow” sentiment — which, after only a single session, was joined by noticeable lift around my cheekbones, no surgical instruments needed.

Reading and casually scrolling through unopened emails after work are not-so-guilty pleasures for me, so I was delighted by the fact that this — as well as light cleaning, making dinner, and walking around my apartment aimlessly — could be done in tandem with using my new mask. It was lightweight and didn’t feel constraining around the head, but I still (as a lifelong asthmatic) experienced a sensation of stuffiness when it came to breathing with the mask on. This was minimal enough to ignore, but those who envision running into the same issue based on the state of their lungs might want to consider donning the gizmo only while laying down, so as to prevent unnecessary breathing difficulties.
I appreciated that once you power on the mask, you don’t have to worry about changing modes, though you can stay for as long as you want on a particular setting. When it came time for the infrared light to work its magic, I actually felt heat radiating from the mask: akin to being under an infrared sauna blanket (AKA very pleasant, so much so that I grew to miss the infrared program whenever it switched to the acne-fighting blue light).

Even my boyfriend became a convert.

Once I took off the mask, I noticed that the eye shield left a few indents around my eyes; these quickly went away, though, and were replaced by firmness and plumpness in my under-eye region (not to mention the cheeks and forehead). Shockingly, my face appeared as smooth as after a microcurrent facial and had a glowiness to it that I could previously only secure via a sheet mask application or a good night’s sleep. Over the course of my month-long trial, I also witnessed an overall reduction in the frequency and intensity of breakouts; my already-existing pimples, too, disappeared quicker than with any spot treatment I had previously used.
True to its word, the mask ran out of juice after exactly five uses, and it did, indeed, feel pampering as can be when I enabled the massage feature at the touch of a button.
I haven’t stopped recommending the Therabody TheraFace Mask Glo to my coworkers — and mom! — since first laying hands on it. Take this as a sign to score your own while it’s still on sale, not that you need an excuse to treat your skin to the best of the best in beauty.
(It, and you, deserve nothing less.)
