A Salmonella outbreak linked to dietary supplements has been reported in Arkansas, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The outbreak has been tied to Why Not Natural Pure Organic Moringa Green Superfood capsules with an expiration date of July 2028 and Live it Up Super Greens supplement powders with expiration dates ranging from August 2026 through January 2028.

The CDC said the outbreak has resulted in at least 97 cases and 26 hospitalizations nationwide, including one reported case in Arkansas.

Health officials are urging consumers to check their homes for the recalled products and discard them if found.

According to the CDC, symptoms of Salmonella infection include diarrhea, fever and stomach cramps, typically beginning six hours to six days after exposure. Most people recover without treatment within four to seven days.

However, young children, older adults and individuals with weakened immune systems may experience more severe illness requiring medical care.

Officials also recommend basic food safety practices to reduce the risk of infection, including washing hands and surfaces frequently, keeping raw foods separate, cooking foods thoroughly and refrigerating perishable items promptly.

More information about the outbreak and prevention measures is available through the CDC.
