Second Harvest also provides resources and programs to help those facing food insecurities make better choices.

“Make out a menu for the week. Maybe just start with dinner time, plan out five dinners for the next five days, and use that for your grocery list. And again, shopping in season, those are ways, there are definitely specific techniques we can use to cut costs,” said David Godoy, a registered dietitian at Second Harvest.

Nutrition and Hydration Week runs through the end of the week, with many organizations promoting healthy lifestyle options to look at.
