JASPER, Ind. (WEVV) — The City of Jasper and the Tri-County YMCA will host an official groundbreaking ceremony for the new Regional Wellness Center on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 1 p.m.
The ceremony will take place at the future site of the facility, located at 900 W. 15th Street. Community members, regional partners, elected officials, and supporters are invited to attend and celebrate what leaders describe as a transformational milestone for Jasper and the surrounding area.
Attendees are encouraged to park at the Jasper Parklands or along 15th Street.
The Regional Wellness Center will be a modern, approximately 70,000-square-foot facility designed to serve residents across Dubois County and an eight-county region. The facility will be owned by the City of Jasper and operated by the Tri-County YMCA.
Plans for the center include a fitness area, gymnasiums, an indoor walking track, group exercise studios, community gathering spaces, and a community kitchen.
Officials say the project represents more than just a recreational facility. The Regional Wellness Center is part of a broader strategy aimed at improving quality of life for residents of all ages, supporting workforce attraction and retention, expanding access to childcare and youth programming, promoting physical and mental health, and strengthening regional connectivity and economic growth.
By creating a centralized hub for wellness, youth development, and community engagement, the project is expected to serve thousands of residents and daily commuters while positioning Jasper as a regional leader in quality-of-life infrastructure.
City officials and YMCA leadership will provide remarks during the ceremony.
