PRINCETON, W.Va. (WVVA) – Early Saturday morning, Heaven Sent Ministries hosted their Hunger Challenge event at Johnston Chapel.
In the chapel’s gymnasium, congregation members prepared nutritional meals for those in need overseas.
This latest shipment will be sent to starving children in Zambia, Africa, continuing the ministry’s 16-year service to underprivileged communities.
“This is our call. This is our mission to do that. And so, we package millions and millions of meals over the years to help these people,” said Lyle Mullins, Heaven Sent Ministries.
Mullins says volunteers for the challenge would willingly give away a Saturday morning to help those in their community and countries away.
The Hunger Challenge lasts throughout the weekend, aiming to complete 100,000 meals for Zambia.
