Symrise has established a new Care & Wellness Division in a major structural realignment designed to capture the booming global demand for holistic health.
The move marks a decisive pivot for the scent & care giant, moving away from traditional category-based silos toward a fully integrated inside-out beauty and health strategy.
The new division marks the culmination of a roadmap that included the 2025 acquisition of Probi, a leader in probiotic technology. By uniting its expertise in cosmetic ingredients, health actives, and biotics, Symrise aims to provide a single, science-backed platform for customers developing topical, ingestible, and holistic wellbeing products.
The primary driver behind the restructure is a fundamental shift in consumer behaviour. Modern shoppers no longer view beauty and “health” as separate purchases; instead, they seek connected care solutions where a morning supplement is expected to work in tandem with a topical night cream.
“Consumers are no longer thinking in single categories,” said Timothy Kenny, president of the Care & Wellness Division. “They expect solutions that support beauty, health, and wellbeing together. By uniting our capabilities, we can support our customers in developing innovative concepts that deliver both proven efficacy and meaningful consumer experiences.”
The Care & Wellness Division will align five distinct business units to unlock synergies and improve speed-to-market across:
Beauty & personal careBiotics & supplementsPet health
This integration allows Symrise to translate complex science — such as gut microbiome research — into diverse applications, from skin health serums to functional pet treats. By leveraging a global R&D community and a unified manufacturing footprint, the division aims to slash the time it takes for high-performing, science-based molecules to reach retail shelves.
For B2B customers and food and drink manufacturers, Symrise sees the launch of Care & Wellness as offering a more streamlined partnership model. Instead of sourcing ingredients from multiple suppliers, brands can now access market-ready concepts that bridge the gap between “measurable efficacy” (clinical claims) and “meaningful experience” (sensory appeal).
“Establishing Care & Wellness is a natural next step in our evolution,” said Dr Jean-Yves Parisot, CEO of Symrise. “We are delivering integrated innovations that help our customers shape the future of care, supporting consumers pursuing healthier longevity. This reinforces our commitment to scientific excellence and sustainable growth.”
The launch aligns with the proactive health trend dominating 2026, where the aging global population is increasingly focused on healthy longevity. By focusing on innovations that support the body both inside and out, Symrise is positioning itself at the intersection of pharma-grade science and premium consumer lifestyle.
As the lines between the pharmacy, the beauty counter, and the functional food aisle continue to blur, Symrise’s new division is set to become a primary engine for the next generation of all-day wellness routines.
