Family-friendly Oil Nut Bay is a 400-acre property on the eastern tip of Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Island. It is a break from the traditional resort experience, incorporating the latest health and wellness trends into its guest itineraries.

The guest experience starts well before guests arrive on the third-largest island in the country. Oakes explained saying, “Our concierge team connects with families prior to arrival to understand their preferences, ensuring every detail is thoughtfully arranged and the vacation unfolds seamlessly. Our collection of private villas accommodates groups of all sizes, with layouts that emphasize both togetherness and privacy through generous indoor-outdoor living spaces.”
Family Time in BVI
Once on-site, families can indulge in a menu of sports activities (paddleboarding and pickleball among them) or branch off to age-specific programming at the Kids Club or Nature Center. Oil Nut Bay offers a customized Rangers Club scavenger hunt.

Indulge in a Wellness Reset
Guests who wish to enjoy Oil Nut Bay as their sanctuary from the busy world back home can sign up for the resort’s Sundara Renew Experience, a four-day wellness program hosted at the on-site, overwater Sundara Spa + Studio, that is designed to physically and mentally reset guests. The Experience was first offered in October while the spa opened in May 2025.
“The experience is deeply connected to the elements, with glass treatment rooms suspended above the sea offering panoramic ocean views and glimpses of marine life below. Therapies are inspired by sun, salt and water, and include a Seaweed Leaf Body Wrap, a 90-minute massage, an Ocean Essence Body Wrap and a VOYA Skin Renewal Facial, complemented by guided meditation and mindful movement. Rather than a single appointment, the program unfolds over several days, giving guests time to slow down and fully disconnect, “Oakes said.
New, Unique Accommodations
Oil Nut Bay’s rental accommodations have expanded. Guests are able to rent villas, each unique, that are designed to blend in with the locale while standing out as exceptional vacationer destinations.
Non-Chemical Mosquito Control
Mosquitos can be a prolific presence the Caribbean, especially after frequent rainfalls and at sunrise/sunset. Oil Nut Bay is part of the BugOut Program, which works to eradicate the pesky bugs without relying on chemicals in ways that do not harm surrounding ecosystem. “In partnership with Green VI, a local environmental nonprofit, and Debug, the team of scientists and engineers behind the technology, we implemented this multi-year initiative. As a result, we have achieved a 98% suppression rate of the two invasive mosquito species, Aedes aegypti and Culex quinquefasciatus,” Oakes said.
