Yoga is one
of the best exercise forms to build both physical and mental
strength with its combination of challenging poses and mindfulness.
Yoga classes can be great for building a habit and community, but
attending in-person classes requires the time, money, and energy
that some of us can’t spare. What is great about yoga is that it
does not require much — all you need is yourself and some space.
If you’ve been looking into practicing yoga at home, you’ve
probably already heard of Yoga with Adriene. With 13 million subscribers, she is
the biggest yoga instructor on YouTube and is a great choice for
absolute beginners who want to learn about the correct form for
postures and who still need to be guided through breathing during
the practice. If you feel like you are ready to advance past the
beginner flows or want to try out a new instructor, this list may
help you align your goals and find your next favorite online yoga
instructor!

1.
For Quick and Simple Practices: Yoga with Bird

For those
days when motivation is low or your schedule is packed, Yoga with
Bird offers short and accessible flows that are easy to follow. Her
videos are gentle and calming, making them perfect for beginners or
anyone getting back into a routine. She focuses on consistency and
mindfulness, which can help you build the habit of showing up for
your practice.

2. To
Build Towards Advanced Poses: Charlie Follows

Charlie
Follows is ideal for those who like structure and progression. A
lot of her videos are part of programs or series that help you work
toward specific goals, such as improving flexibility or mastering
certain poses. Her teaching style is all about patience and gradual
growth, and she also does short-form content that can help you
improve the form of specific poses. Charlie is my personal
favorite, and I can attest that her videos have helped me improve
the core skills I need to work towards inversions!

3.
For Variety: Yoga with Kassandra

If you tend
to get bored doing the same routines, Yoga with Kassandra is a
great option. Her channel offers a wide range of videos, from
beginner-friendly sessions to more advanced flows, as well as yin
yoga, vinyasa, and pilates. She will help you explore different
styles and lengths of practice, making her a great option if you
want to experiment and discover what you like.

4.
For Challenging Flows: Boho Beautiful

For a more
intense workout, Boho Beautiful offers fast-paced flows that can
help build strength, endurance, and flexibility. 9 times out of 10,
I leave her class with my abs sore! Her videos often incorporate
elements of fitness alongside traditional yoga, making them a good
choice if you want to break a sweat while still maintaining a
mindful practice. These sessions are better suited for those who
already have some experience with yoga.

5. To
Improve In Specific Areas and Master Technique: Cathy Mao
Yoga

If your goal
is to refine your form and deepen your understanding of yoga, Cathy
Madeo Yoga focuses on technique and alignment. Her videos often
break down poses step by step, helping you understand how to engage
the right muscles and avoid injury. Her classes are especially
helpful for beginner or intermediate yogis who want to improve in
specific areas and take their practice to the next level.

If you want
to build the habit of practicing yoga, I highly recommend trying
out a 30-day program. Be patient with your progress and enjoy the
process! Namaste!
