It’s tough to pick an all-time favorite beauty and wellness device. I’ve tried so many and regularly use them as part of my self-care. But if asked, one of the first to come to mind is without a doubt the ZIIP Halo. It fits in the palm of your hand but packs a serious instant and longterm punch thanks to its micocurrent and nanocurrent capabilities. The lifting, the depuffing, the sculpting! There is just nothing that can beat it. Sure, I may stray, but I always go back.

So when the ZIIP Halo 2.0 was announced, I obviously had to investigate. The Halo 2.0, to be clear, has everything we know and love about the OG, with some thoughtful engineering upgrades. First and foremost, the Halo 2.0 is a cohesive unit, which will better ensure its longevity. There’s also a concealed charging port to prevent any of the gel used for treatments from interfering—which, by the way, the Halo 2.0 comes with three of the conductive gels (Silver, Crystal, and Gold) for the user to employ based on needs. My favorite of the three is the Silver gel because my dehydration-prone skin slurps it right up. And then of course, there’s the circuit board that delivers stronger electrical currents. A handy storage bag for travel, also comes in tow. Of note, the Halo is without a doubt the easiest skincare device to travel with because of its size and how lightweight it is. An essential for party prep, if you ask me. I never travel for a wedding without it.
New updates aside, though, the OG Halo can still deliver the exact skincare results from their devices, as the above is all that has changed. The original Halo still pairs with the ZIIP app, with access to 17 treatments that deliver a unique electrical program for your skin. So really, if you have the original and you don’t feel like the device needs to be replaced, there’s no need to do so for the sake of treatment efficacy. Though the physical upgrades like the cohesive unit do make a difference.
In terms of the treatments, it’s exactly what I know and love. With a quick guided tutorial, I find my skin is lifted, sculpted, and chiseled in all the right ways, and I even find that my skin looks plumped and juicy, as do my lips. With regular use (these days I’m aiming for 2-3 days a week), my fine lines, which are minimal, noticeably improve, and my skin is brighter and more even in tone. I even think it helps with my redness. And the best part is, if you don’t have time for a 10 minute session, you can still use it unguided, and give your visage a quick boost. There’s nothing like knowing the power of nanocurrent and micocurrent are working hand in hand to improve your appearance immediately, and also help you see changes over time. The ZIIP Halo 2.0 is a winner, if not the winner of the entire category. But then again, I already knew that.
