More and more people are taking supplements on a daily basis. The lack of certain nutrients, coupled with a growing concern for optimal health, leads people to take things they don’t even need. Therefore, before starting self-supplementation, it’s advisable to consult a doctor to assess whether the treatment is appropriate.
Longevity expert José Hernández Poveda gave an interview to Uri Sabat in which he discussed these products. The presenter confessed that he takes “Omega 3, magnesium, and vitamin D in the mornings” and repeats the first two at night. “These are things that 99% of the population can and needs to take,” the doctor emphasized.
“Our bodies are usually deficient and need them to function properly. For various reasons, we have less Omega-3, magnesium, and vitamin D than we should,” she adds. In her case, supplementation goes much further, because she takes much more specific products.

One of them is nicotinamide riboside, better known as NR. “It is a precursor to NAD in the body, which helps stimulate your natural defenses against aging,” he explained. “I also take spermidine, which supports autophagy during the intermittent fasting I practice.”
The last two supplements he says he has incorporated into his routine are protein, “to meet my daily intake goals,” and creatine, “not just for muscle, but for the brain as well.”
In the comments, many people responded cautiously to the advice. One user offered perhaps the most sensible takeaway: “They act like you should take half a pharmacy without a second thought. Talk to your doctor, get tested, and if they recommend it afterward, then take it.”
