Wags 2 Wellness Low-Cost Veterinary Center, also known as Wags 2 Wishes Animal Rescue, has opened a new facility offering rescue services and more in Minooka.
The Channahon Minooka Chamber and the Grundy County Chamber celebrated the new location at 949 Bell Road with a ribbon cutting.
They were joined by officials from both the Village of Minooka and the Village of Shorewood. While the new location has a Minooka address, it is within Shorewood’s planning area.
“We are an all-in-one animal care facility offering boarding, daycare, animal rescue, grooming, training and soon-to-be a low-cost veterinary care center—all under one roof,” Founder and Owner Terri Crotty-Newberry said in a news release. “Our mission is to provide affordable, accessible and compassionate care while supporting Wags 2 Wishes Animal Rescue and the community.”
Wags 2 Wishes Animal Rescue was founded in 2013. Pound Town Boarding and Daycare was established in 2019, and is now doing business as Wags 2 Wellness Low-Cost Veterinary Center.
The nonprofit organization announced in February it would be moving from its location at 23907 W. Industrial Drive N in Plainfield to a new and expanded location on Bell Road in Minooka.
The location is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. It is closed on Sunday.
“From adopting a new pet to medical services for your aging furry loved one, Wags 2 Wellness is there for all of your pet needs,” Chamber President & CEO Christina Van Yperen said.
Wags 2 Wellness provides adoption, boarding, grooming, training, medical services, and more.
Shorewood Mayor ‘CC’ DeBold and Minooka Trustees Josh Stell, Barry Thompson, and Robin White joined the Wags 2 Wellness and Chamber teams for the ribbon cutting March 27.
“Our facility was created to solve a real problem—making veterinary care more affordable and accessible while reducing the burden on rescues,” Crotty-Newberry said.
“At the heart of everything we do is Wags 2 Wishes Animal Rescue, where we are committed to saving and rehoming animals in need. . .Everything we do is centered around compassion, quality care and community impact. Whether you’re boarding, seeking daycare, veterinary services, adopting, grooming or training, you can trust that your pet is in a safe, caring, and professional environment.”
