Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has taken an equity stake in IM8, a nutritional supplements company co-founded by health sciences firm Prenetics and former England soccer captain David Beckham, according to a report by Bloomberg.
IM8, which focuses on products designed to improve daily health routines, launched in December 2024 and has reached $100 million in annualized revenue within 11 months, the report said.
Antetokounmpo said he plans to play an active role in the company beyond a traditional endorsement.
“I can open doors in markets and communities that IM8 might not reach on their own,” he said, according to Bloomberg. “But more than being a face, I want to be a voice inside the company too – asking the questions consumers would ask, making sure the product stays at the level it needs to be.”
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The company’s roster of athlete partners includes the world’s number one female tennis player Aryna Sabalenka and British Formula One driver Ollie Bearman.
Over his 13-year career, Antetokounmpo has earned $338 million, ranking him 14th among the highest-paid players in NBA history, according to data from Spotrac cited by Bloomberg.
Off the court, Antetokounmpo has built a large global following, with more than 35 million social media followers, and has secured endorsement deals with major brands including Nike, WhatsApp, Google Pixel, JBL and T-Mobile, Bloomberg reported.
