CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP, Pa. – A Philadelphia man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after police say he stabbed a gym employee in Montgomery County.
What we know:
Cheltenham Township Police announced the arrest of Davier Massey, 28, in connection with the Thursday afternoon stabbing.
Officers responded to a Planet Fitness location on South Easton Road around 12:30 p.m. for reports of a stabbing.
Responding officers found the victim, a male gym employee, suffering from multiple stab wounds at the scene. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for life-threatening injuries.
According to police, the stabbing happened during an altercation between the employee and Massey, who had previously been banned from the gym.
Massey was arrested a short distance away from the scene by responding officers. He’s been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and related offenses.
What we don’t know:
The motive in the stabbing and the circumstances that sparked the physical altercation are unknown at this time.
