I oftentimes wonder how celebrity makeup stays seemingly flawless for hours on end, with day-old glam looking like new. Thanks to a recent interview with Mariska Hargitay, I know one secret: it’s Charlotte Tilbury’s setting spray.
Mariska, a household name for her role as Olivia Benson on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, recently spoke with Harper’s BAZAAR about all-things beauty and self-care. When asked what her staple trailer beauty product is, Mariska mentioned the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Setting Spray. She said, “Once we started to use the Charlotte, everyone commented on how different my makeup looked. It is also super hydrating. It’s a game-changer.”
According to the brand, this setting spray is formulated to keep your makeup fresh and in place for up to 16 hours(!), all while giving your complexion a blurred, airbrushed look. Also, they say that the spray’s moisturizing formula contains aloe vera and Japanese green tea (to name just a few standout ingredients)—and it’s supposed to be waterproof.
While I personally haven’t tried this setting spray, I do have the brand’s Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder—and it’s one of my favorites. The powder is lightweight and long lasting—and, yes, it does give my complexion an airbrushed look.
It’s also no secret that our staffers are fans of the brand—Charlotte Tilbury has been been recognized by the Good Housekeeping Institute Beauty & Personal Care Lab time and time again. The Charlotte Tilbury Exagger-Eyes Instant Volume Mascara even won a GH Beauty Award last year, as it was a “tester favorite.”
And if you were curious about other details on Mariska’s beauty faves, she hinted at a couple of her other secrets in the same interview. The celeb referenced C.O. Bigelow lip balm (it’s just $15!), which according to her, is “always” in her bag, along with Chanel lip gloss.
