FORT PIERCE — Treasure Coast residents can expect a lively day of family-friendly fun when Fort Pierce Beauty Academy hosts its second annual Spring Fling from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11.

The free event, held on the school’s campus at Coral Square Shopping Center, 3028 S. U.S. 1, is expected to draw hundreds with a festive mix of entertainment, activities and springtime celebration.

The Spring Fling was introduced last year as a warm‑weather companion to the academy’s long‑running Fall Festival, which has become a beloved local tradition.

Organizers say the spring event is quickly gaining momentum, offering families another opportunity to enjoy a festive day out without cost barriers. Attendance typically ranges from 300 to 400 people, and this year’s turnout is expected to match or exceed that number.

Guests will find a wide variety of attractions designed to appeal to all ages. Children can enjoy pony rides, a petting zoo, bounce house, face painting, and a classic Easter egg hunt complete with a special visit from the Easter Bunny, who will be vacationing in Florida after a very busy holiday.

Food trucks and an ice cream truck will be on site, along with popcorn, cotton candy, and other treats.

Raffle contests will run throughout the day, and one of the most popular offerings

— free haircuts provided by the academy’s students — will return as a highlight of the event.

Michael Prevette, owner and director of the beauty academy for 60 years and known to all as Mr. P, says the Spring Fling is more than just a day of fun; it is a heartfelt gesture of appreciation to the community that has supported the academy for six decades.

Hosting free, family‑friendly events is one way the school gives back while also showcasing the talent and dedication of its students and staff.

“We’re grateful for the continued support from Fort Pierce and love being able to offer something enjoyable for families each year,” Prevette explained. “The Spring Fling is our way of saying thank you.”

With its blend of entertainment, seasonal charm, and community spirit, the Spring Fling is poised to become a staple of the local spring calendar. Families across the Treasure Coast are encouraged to stop by, enjoy the festivities, and celebrate the season together.
