The Blues advanced to the FA Cup semi finals, and booked a trip to Wembley with a 7-0 thrashing of the League One outfit.

There were seven different goal scorers, and Chelsea recorded a rare clean sheet on a near perfect afternoon for Liam Rosenior.

It’s been a difficult season for Palmer, who missed virtually the entire first half of the campaign with a groin injury, but after the Port Vale game he made an admission about his condition.

“Physically, I feel good now, I can finally shoot again, and I can do everything again. So yeah, it’s just about kicking on and performing.”

Chelsea will find out who their semi final opponents are on Sunday evening, with the draw taking place after the final quarter final between West Ham and Leeds.
