Protein consumption is growing in China across different consumer groups and demand for higher-quality products is on the rise, says BYHEALTH, which has recently launched an upgraded version of its flagship protein powder product.
The product, BYHEALTH Zhenzuan Protein Powder, is an upgrade of BYHEALTH’s flagship eponymous protein powder, with the protein content increased from 80% to 90%.
Dr. He Ruikun, deputy director of BYHEALTH Nutrition and Health Research Institute, told NutraIngredients that the upgraded protein powder was designed to meet changing consumer needs.

Singapore firm MIRIQA has expanded beyond beauty supplements into the immunity category and looks to meet the health and wellness needs of modern families.
On the back of positive responses for its Collagen Reserve jelly supplement, MIRIQA launched Immunity Builder, which also comes in the jelly format and is designed for both children and adults.

Margarita Zhao, founder of a pharmacy chain and a pharmaceutical company in Inner Mongolia, has launched a nutraceutical start-up focused on longevity and healthspan products – at least for its initial launch.
In an interview with NutraIngredients at the “Geromedicine: Unlock Healthy Longevity Conference Supplements & Repurposed Drugs” held in Singapore, Zhao, who has 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and pharmacy sectors, hopes to champion preventive care through her nutraceutical start-up.
With guidance from scientific advisor Dr. Joanna Pawlak, Zhao said Vavitas has formulated five products – including NMN, fish oil, vitamin D3+K2 softgels – based on market needs and were ingredient-driven.

Bayer’s maternal health brand Elevit seeks to address the silent struggles of Australian mothers through constant product innovation and providing holistic support by partnering with local start-ups.
Elevit recently released results from a survey highlighting the significant emotional, physical, and societal pressures experienced by Australian mothers.
“Our aim was to open the door for a greater conversation on the stressors women experience, as well as the support they might need throughout their pregnancy journey,” Ayumi Uyeda, General Manager of Consumer Health at Bayer, told NI.

Otsuka Pharmaceutical, the maker of electrolyte drink POCARI SWEAT, is adding a kaempferol supplement to its line-up.
Kaempferol is a type of flavonoid found in plants. Studies have shown that it can improve sleep quality, support intestinal health and control weight gain.
The Japanese company has launched the product under the brand /zeroz, following 13 years of research, including safety and absorption efficiency studies.
