Skincare Benefits Meet Color Cosmetics

Consumers are increasingly looking for skincare benefits in their makeup formula, especially for face products such as foundations. The “skinification” trend, a holistic new category blurring lines between skincare and makeup, has become a key driver in the color cosmetics market over the past few years and is still growing strong.

As a result, makeup users are increasingly relying on color cosmetics to also address their skincare needs. In 2024, 94%* of American makeup consumers used makeup products with skincare benefits, with moisturizing, SPF and anti-wrinkles claims leading the way. Additionally, skincare benefits in makeup are seen as a trade-up motivator, with 22%** of Indian women being interested in buying and willing to pay more makeup that contains skincare ingredients.

The Iconic Packaging, Redesigned

Aptar-Beauty-Clarins-Double-Serum-Foundation-Drip-Square.pngClarins’ Double Serum Foundation, a next-generation hybrid serum foundation, is the perfect example of potent makeup formula delivering true skincare benefits. This new launch leverages a custom solution, similar to the iconic ninth generation of the Double Serum: a patented double-chamber packaging for two-in-one dispensing. A thin wall separates the two formulas inside the container, with a ratio of 70% of color cosmetic and 30% hydric system. Each phase stays separate until application, combining only at the last moment for optimal compatibility.

The adjustable dial dispenses a progressive dosage, allowing customizable coverage of the 37 shades available. The rotating actuator delivers from a small drop to a power shot, ensuring waste-free usage. Equipped with a lockable feature, it boasts a new metallized design with high shine finish.

Clarins added a Polypropylene (PP) overcap to allow for on-the-go use, which perfectly matches the premium look-and-feel of the pack with external golden lacquering, a shiny red interior and delicate embossing of the brand logo.

The full packaging contains at least 38% recycled material***, with the bottle incorporating 95% recyclable materials, as claimed by Clarins.
