Polish craft and design institute Visteria Foundation returns to Milan during its design week with a new exhibition titled Polish Modernism: A Struggle for Beauty.
Featuring historical works as well as contemporary objects, the show illustrates the impact of modernist ideas on the past and present Polish design scene.
The exhibition aims to highlight the presence of the country’s turbulent history in design, showcasing Polish modernism as an act of cultural resistance.
The exhibited selection features artists whose work reflects the influence of modernist ideas, including Mati Sipiora, Marek Bimer and Aleksandra Hyz, as well as artists commissioned specifically for the exhibition, such as Tomek Rygalik and Maja Ganszyniec.
The exhibition is curated by designer Federica Sala and curator at the National Museum in Warsaw, Anna Maga.
Polish Modernism: A Struggle for Beauty takes place from 20 to 26 April 2026 at Torre Velasca, Piazza Velasca 3-5, 20122 Milan, Italy.
