Beauty’s 2026 peach obsession offers something sweet in troubled times

It is difficult not to feel overwhelmed at the current global situation, with the cost-of-living crisis, economic turmoil and wars weighing heavily on our minds.

And yet, more than ever, consumers’ purchasing trends indicate a strong desire for self-soothing and reprieve to the existential dread of it all – enter the humble peach.

Colour authority Pantone ended up being right about the power of peach after all, albeit two years late after predicting peach fuzz would be the colour of the year in 2024, as the fruit becomes a dominant force in beauty this year across fragrance and colour cosmetics.

But it is not an entirely new trend, as peach scents have been on the rise since the early 2020s, with key notes in fragrances such as Tom Ford’s Bitter Peach and Jimmy Choo’s I Want You.

But peach’s  popularity is hitting new heights with a plethora of new launches in 2026.

From Kayali’s new Eden Sweet Peach | 35 fragrance, which pairs sweet-and-tangy peach and crisp red apple, to the relaunch of Kilian Paris’ Forbidden Games in March, which brought back the 2012 fruity-floral gourmand described as a “honey-drizzled peach”.

Plus, P.Louise’s Sweet As A Peach cosmetics bundle, as well as make-up brand Too Faced, which teased the return of its 2016 Sweet Peach palette on Instagram in January.

And consumers are more eager than ever for something a little bit sweeter in their lives, with searches for ‘peach beauty products’ up 1,000% on TikTok, and ‘peach scents’ by 3,000% on Google so far in 2026, according to research by ecommerce optimisation specialists MediaVision.

But why exactly has the fruit re-emerged this year, and does it have the staying power to be more than just a flash-in-the-pan trend?
