FORT GREENE – THE FORT GREENE Park Conservancy is inviting neighbors of all ages to their free annual Step Up for the Park fitness day, which the group says will kick off a summer of activities themed around healthy outdoor fun.
The no-cost morning event, starting at 9:30 a.m. on May 16, will feature a cardio dance session and a group run led by Chelsea Piers Fitness, along with classes from Crunch Fitness and Shala Yoga. Olympic fencer Keeth Smart, a Flatbush native, will deliver opening remarks.
Later this season, Shala Yoga will hold Yoga in the Park sessions every Saturday, while Chelsea Piers Fitness will soon launch a Tuesday night Run Club, as well as a high-interval intensity training class starting May 4.
