Imelda Schweighart has officially resigned from Miss Universe Philippines 2026.

In a joint public statement by Schweighart and the Miss Universe Philippines Organization, both parties confirmed that the decision was reached professionally and mutually after careful consideration, emphasizing that there is no hostility between them.

Schweighart also expressed gratitude for the opportunities extended to her by the organization, while MUPh likewise thanked her for her brief participation in the pageant.

“Both parties now consider this matter fully settled and respectfully request privacy as they move forward with their respective endeavors.”

Previously, MUPH announced the removal of one candidate from the 2026 pageant following a review of concerns regarding her participation.

Although the MUPH organization did not disclose the identity of the candidate involved, Imelda—who was the representative of Kalibo, Aklan, for the competition—took to Instagram to post a cryptic message.

Following the issue, Imelda joined the Miss Grand International All Stars Edition.

The Miss Universe Philippines 2026 pageant will be held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday.

The winner will be crowned by Miss Universe Philippines 2025 and Sparkle artist Ahtisa Manalo. The new queen will then represent the Philippines in the Miss Universe 2026 pageant in November in Puerto Rico.
