An annual wellness festival will be going on this weekend.
Lava Hot Springs will be holding their annual wellness festival May 8 and 9.
This year they will be partnering with Caribou Medical Clinic.
On Friday they will kick off the wellness festival with check-in at the community center from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., followed by fire dancing at 9:00 p.m.
There will be a 5k run that starts on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. at Buddy Campbell Park.
You can go to the Lava Chamber of Commerce website to register for the 5k and a shirt comes with the registration.
There will be free yoga classes and several wellness vendors in the east and west park, as well as the Community and Senior Center in Lava.
Mark Oyler, with the Lava Hot Springs City Council, says the wellness festival will also promote tourism with great restaurants and shops to visit.
“It’s the fun part of the job. It’s a no-brainer and the easy part for us to support community events, help you know tourism and kind of balance that with our resident base,” says Mark Oyler, Lava Hot Springs City Council.
