Georgina Rodríguez attended her second Met Gala on Monday night in New York City, joining a slew of stars in soft, ethereal glam on the carpet.

Under a powder-blue chiffon veil, Cristiano Ronaldo’s fiancée donned a no-makeup-makeup aesthetic by celebrity artist and beauty founder Patrick Ta. The simple look, on par with what she’s worn before, consisted of overlined lips, luminous blush, a brown baby wing and bushy brows.

The inspiration, Ta told WWD, came from the duality of “restraint and intention.” He said: “With the theme ‘Costume Art,’ I didn’t want the makeup to compete with the overall story of the outfit, but complement it in a way that felt refined and effortless.” Doing so meant doubling down on complexion, creating a base that was “luminous, softly sculpted and beautifully blurred — but still natural.” Think “lit from within.”

To achieve this, Ta used the skin-first method, prepping Rodríguez’s face with products from the K-beauty brand Biodance, including the Collagen Real Deep Mask, Collagen Gel Toner Pads, Pore Perfecting Collagen Peptide Cream, Peptide Eye Patches and Peptide Jelly Serum Mist. He then layered his Major Skin Hydra Luxe Luminous Skin Perfecting Foundation and Major Skin Soft Blur Brightening Concealer over top before going in with the Major Sculpt Crème Contour and Powder Bronzer Duo in “She’s Bronzed” to carve Rodríguez’s face.

“There’s a quiet evolution in how I approached blush for this look,” Ta continued. “I wanted to seamlessly melt the blush from the under eye into the cheek — an area that is often overlooked — for a softly blurred gradient effect.

“I used a new, yet-to-be-released product to achieve that effect — it’s something I’ve been working on for a while,” Ta teased. “It gives this soft, diffused transition that adds depth and dimension to the skin. I paired with my Major Headlines Double Take Crème and Powder Blush Duo in ‘She’s Seductive’ on the cheeks for a beautiful flush color.”

Paired with a French blue lace custom gown by Ludovic de Saint Sernin, the resulting aesthetic was intimate and feminine. In an Instagram post shared Monday night, the Paris-based fashion designer elaborated on the spiritual motivation behind Rodríguez’s fashion, specifically “her devotion to the Virgin of Fátima.” Next to images of her on the carpet, the caption read: “The softness of the figure and the light blue tones that define her image became the foundation of the piece, translating spirituality into couture.”

The statement continued: “Hidden inside the dress, placed next to her heart, two phrases are hand-embroidered in her native Spanish: ‘Donde ella está, el alma encuentra refugio’ and ‘Y líbranos del mal amén.’ These words act as a private prayer, carried within the piece.”
