Aug. 27 for a golf tournament by Compound Fitness Monroe for a great cause – Your Local News

This is the second annual fundraiser for The Heart of Madison

Compound Fitness Monroe is hosting its second fundraiser  in support of The Heart of Madison, bringing the community together for a day of friendly competition and meaningful impact. Set for August 27, 2026 at Providence Country Club, the event builds on the success of last year’s inaugural fundraiser, continuing the gym’s commitment to giving back.

With this second fundraiser, Compound Fitness Monroe aims to grow that impact even further—uniting fitness, community, and philanthropy on the course for a great cause and continuing its commitment to community impact with a new kind of fundraiser this year—a golf tournament benefiting. It will again benefit The Heart of Madison. While this is the first time the gym has hosted a golf event, it builds on the success of last year’s heartfelt 5K through downtown Monroe, which brought together families, fitness enthusiasts, and supporters for a meaningful cause.

That inaugural 5K was more than just a race—it was a tribute to Madison Evans, of Monroe, and a mission to support the work of The Heart of Madison, a Covington-based nonprofit founded in 2022. Created to honor Madison’s life and legacy after she passed away from a congenital heart defect, the organization funds a perpetual scholarship at the University of Georgia for Early Childhood Education students and continues to serve others through outreach and giving initiatives designed to “bless and touch lives.”

For the team at Compound Fitness Monroe, the cause is deeply personal. Co-founder April Fralick and coach Kelly Murell both share longstanding connections with Madison’s family, making their efforts to raise awareness and funding especially meaningful. Last year’s 5K highlighted not only Madison’s story, but also the strength of a community rallying around one of its own.

Now, with the introduction of this golf tournament, Compound Fitness Monroe hopes to expand that impact—bringing even more people together to support The Heart of Madison, honor Madison’s legacy, and continue funding life-changing opportunities for others.
