Probationer Caught With Meth During a Wellness Check in Missoula

Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) – On April 21, 2026, a Missoula Police Department officer was called out to the intersection of Worden Street and Wolf Street to assist Probation and Parole. A Probation Officer (PO) said she located drugs while conducting a wellness check of 44-year-old William Donahue. Donahue is currently on probation for a conviction of Criminal Possession of Dangerous Drugs in Montana’s Fourth Judicial District Court.

The officer arrived on scene and spoke with the PO. The PO said she conducted a wellness check on Donahue because he had been testing positive for drugs during recent check-ins on probation. The officer observed the bag and contents inside and recognized it to be methamphetamine based on his training and experience. The PO also located a glass pipe with residue, a small metal spoon, a tooter straw, and a lighter. The drugs and paraphernalia were seized.
