Dietary guidelines – Examine the science, processes and real-world implications of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans in this plenary session. In a series of short, high-impact talks, speakers will explore how nutrition evidence is translated into population guidance and ways the nutrition science community can strengthen the rigor, relevance and impact of dietary guidance. Menopause and nutrition – The menopause transition may have implications for nutrition’s role in cognitive changes, microbiome alterations, weight management and the risk of chronic disease. Nutrition education in medical training – As the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services launches new efforts to expand nutrition education in medical schools, leaders in nutrition and medicine are crafting innovative approaches to accomplish this goal.
