Neolipyl, the natural active ingredient launched in 2025 by Silab to rebalance the lipid matrix of dry skin, has won a new award!
On April 21, at the International Cosmetics Innovation Conference (ICIC) in Shanghai, Neolipyl won an ICIC Award in the Science-Technology Innovative Ingredient Benchmark category, only a few weeks after winning silver at the PCHi Fountain Awards.
Derived from cornflower, the ingredient acts on both the composition and structure of the skin matrix to restore skin barrier integrity. These effects translate into rapid benefits observed as early as 14 days of twice-daily application: microrelief is smoothed, and skin hydration and comfort are improved. Comparative studies have demonstrated a niacinamide-like efficacy.
When combined with retinol on normal skin, it helps reduce the molecule’s undesirable side effects — such as dryness, discomfort and redness — without compromising its anti-wrinkle performance. Neolipyl also significantly improves the positive effect of retinol on complexion radiance.

“By leveraging our dual expertise in lipidomics and optical biopsies, we managed to establish the lipid signature of dry skin for the first time. Based on these studies, we were able to determine the global repairing properties of our active ingredient on Caucasian and Asian volunteers with dry skin. We are very pleased that this efficacy has been recognized, and that, for the second time in just over a month,” commented Brigitte Closs-Gonthier, Chief Executive Officer at Silab.
