Planet Fitness, a nationwide franchisor and operator of fitness centers, plans to open one of its newest clubs in Northwest Baltimore County, the company announced Tuesday.
Ohana Growth Partners LLC, a franchisee of Planet Fitness, leased 16,660 square feet of space at 8634 Liberty Road in Randallstown that will accommodate the new facility.
Located at the former Rite Aid store in the Liberty Court Shopping Center, Planet Fitness Randallstown joins a host of other Baltimore County locations opened by OGP, including Catonsville, Golden Ring, Towson, Perry Hall and Reisterstown.
Construction is expected to begin in June and the club is projected to open by the end of the year, according to a release.
“We are delighted to further invest in Baltimore County, where we are based, and bring the joy of fitness to the Randallstown community, which has been underserved for so long,” OGP President Justin Drummond said in a statement.
MJM Architects Vice President Gretchen Barker will be responsible for design and CG Builders LLC is the construction project’s contractor.
The gym will feature strength equipment, cardio equipment, flat screen TVs, a Black Card Spa for PF Black Card members, free fitness training included in all memberships and more.
OGP, headquartered in Timonium, owns and operates more than 90 Planet Fitness health clubs with more than 700,000 members in Maryland, Washington, D.C., Tennessee, Florida, Washington state, California and Michigan, according to a release.
