Adding simple ingredients, you can transform a pasta dish which is mainly carbohydrates into a very flavorful and nutrition dish. Simple dishes can be very nutritious. Linguini pasta, basil, minced garlic, pine nuts, wild caught tuna, avocado oil and cheese. We discuss the health benefits of each ingredients: heart health, minerals, good fats and more. Most deficiencies in our diets identified in blood test are due to lack of nutrition in our diet. Supplementation is essential to increase the values in our cells. But diet is critical to prevent deficiency. Think of calcium so essential for bone and heart health. We need at least 3 cups of milk daily. Many people have lactose deficiencies. Milk is not essential. Calcium is. So if we do not start adding how much calcium is really in our diet, then we do not know if we need to supplement. Needless to say laboratory testing is instrumental to know exactly values and monitor changes. If someone is vitamin C deficient which we can measure in the cell, they would need 1 gram of Vitamin C. They would have to take about 10 oranges to get that gram on a daily basis. We eat not for pleasure but because our bodies need fuel and nutrition to carry its biological functions.
