  • June 3, 2026

WASHINGTON (7News) — A D.C. man was sentenced to nearly five years in prison for his role an armed robbery at a local beauty supply store, U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro said.

George Carr, 24, previously pleaded guilty on Dec. 9, 2025, to one count of interference with interstate commerce by robbery.

According to court documents, the charges stem from an incident on Aug. 1, 2025 when Carr and an unidentified co-conspirator entered Scott’s Beauty Supply wearing masks.

Inside, Carr grabbed a store employee by the shirt, pointed a handgun at him and ordered everyone to the ground. Carr then pressed the firearm against the back of the employee’s head while his accomplice demanded cash from the register.

The two fled the scene with $200. Carr later told law enforcement officials that he committed the robbery to “repay a debt.”

Carr had an extensive criminal history, which includes adult convictions for threatening to bomb a Washington restaurant and kill its occupants, as well as assaulting his ex-girlfriend and threatening to burn down her home, according to court documents.
