Ocean Vayu Yoga is celebrating 10 years of serving the coastal Delaware community with a free wellness festival at John West Park in Ocean View on Friday, June 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Founded in 2016 by Kim and Justin Cavagnaro, Ocean Vayu Yoga, they said, “has spent the past decade creating a welcoming space where people of all ages and abilities can discover the physical, mental and emotional benefits of yoga and mindful living.”
To commemorate the milestone anniversary, the studio is inviting the community to gather for a morning of movement, music, relaxation and connection.
The free event will feature yoga classes for all experience levels, as well as tai chi, kids’ yoga, sound healing experiences, live music by local guitarist Marty Zombro, raffle giveaways and refreshments from Home Town Creamery and Arlo Wilde Coffee.
“We are deeply grateful for the support of our community over the last 10 years,” said owners Kim and Justin Cavagnaro. “This celebration is an opportunity to give back and share the practices that have brought so much peace, healing and connection to our students and to our own lives.”
The event schedule includes:
• 9:30 a.m. — Vinyasa Flow Yoga;
• 9:45 a.m. — Kids’ Yoga;
• 10:30 a.m. — Gentle Flow Yoga;
• 11:15 a.m. — Yin Yoga;
• 11:15 a.m. — Kids Yoga; and
• Noon — Tai Chi.
Sound healing sessions will be woven throughout the morning’s activities, creating opportunities for participants to relax, restore and experience the therapeutic benefits of sound. Live music by Marty Zombro will provide atmosphere throughout the event.
Guests are being encouraged to bring a yoga mat, water, sunscreen, and friends or family members. No registration is required, so attendees may simply arrive and participate in any or all of the activities throughout the morning.
“The celebration reflects Ocean Vayu Yoga’s mission of fostering peace, love, wellness and community connection throughout coastal Delaware,” they said. “Whether participants are longtime students or curious newcomers, all are welcome to join in the festivities and help celebrate a decade of mindful living.”
