READING, Pa. — The Good Medicine Indigenous Wellness Celebration returned to Riverfront Park on Saturday.
The day kicked off with a community cleanup along the river — followed by the wellness celebration itself.
It was all meant to teach the community about Native American approaches to health and wellness — as well as draw attention to resources that are available.
“The goal is to promote…
…in this place that we call home,” said Amanda Funk, executive director of the Widoktadwen Center for Native Knowledge.
There was also live beading demonstrations, Native American storytelling, and several dance performances for attendees to enjoy.
