HAZINA, a skincare brand based in Closter, announced July 21 that it will have a retail placement at alchemy., a retail concept inside Westfield World Trade Center’s Oculus in Manhattan, beginning Aug. 1.
The Oculus is the centerpiece of The World Trade Center Transportation Hub. The Oculus, which means “eye” in Latin, is one of the largest transportation centers in New York with subway and PATH stations as well as a shopping mall with retail, restaurants and public art.
Following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, construction began in 2004, and Oculus finally opened to the public on March 3. Designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, the $4 billion building is 350 feet long and measures about 75,000 square feet of retail space. It has among the most foot-trafficked spaces in the city.
Founded by Rinku Wadhwani and Parul Rawal, HAZINA was created out of Wadhwani’s search for effective, elevated skincare during menopause. The brand draws on thousands of years of Ayurvedic ritual, combined with Rawal’s Indian and Botswanan heritage, to create formulations for women navigating midlife skin changes.
The Oculus placement marks a significant milestone for the founder-led brand, which built its early customer base through community events and popups across Bergen County before expanding across the tri-state area, including appearances at Greenwich Polo Club and an upcoming vendor spot at The Hamptons Bazaar on Aug. 8.
“This felt like a meaningful next step for us,” said Wadhwani. “We built HAZINA from the ground up here in New Jersey and bringing it into a space like the Oculus is a real full-circle moment.”
HAZINA products are made by a GMP/FDA/ISO-certified facility in India.
