PARK CITY, Utah — Swaner EcoCenter and Utah Native Plant Society are inviting visitors to discover the beauty and importance of Utah’s native plants at Ephemeral, a new free exhibition.

Featuring artwork inspired by Utah’s native wildflowers, shrubs, grasses, and trees, Ephemeralis a juried art exhibition celebrating the talent of local artists and the beauty, resilience, and ecological importance of Utah’s native plants. Through a variety of artistic mediums, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the fleeting yet essential nature of native plant communities and reflect on the importance of conservation in a changing world.
“Ephemeral invites visitors to see Utah’s native plants through the eyes of local artists,” said Hunter Klingensmith, director of visitor experience at Swaner. “By blending art and ecology, this exhibition creates a meaningful opportunity for our community to connect with the landscapes that make Utah unique. We’re excited to be partnering with the Utah Native Plant Society to creatively highlight the critical role these plants play in the health of our ecosystems.”
The exhibition’s free Opening Celebration will be from 5-7 p.m. Sept. 12. Community members are invited to meet artists, explore the exhibition, and celebrate the intersection of art, conservation, and place.
“We hope that the beauty of these pieces representing Utah’s native plants will foster a connection between viewers and the place we all call home,” said Rose Torres with the Utah Native Plant Society. “Come and be inspired by these incredible native plants.”
Many works in the exhibition will be available for purchase, with a portion of proceeds supporting both Swaner Preserve & EcoCenter and the Utah Native Plant Society.
