Vit D is reported to have a positive effect on innate immunity, and controls over acquired immunity.
Vit D deficiency and insufficiency in dark-skinned people like Indo-Pakistani, Hispanics, and African Americans seem to be taking a higher toll in the shape of disproportionately higher numbers of COVID-19 cases and also more deaths due to it.
More studies are required to confirm the optimum levels of Vit D needed and the dosage of the supplement of Vit D. Present RDA is 600 to 800 IU, which is considered low by many.
Ask your doctor to test and prescribe for Vit D.
