Unspoken health tips for workers

1. Immune system strengthening.
With less activity by staying at home, and over-sanitisation that destroys our protective barrier bacteria, we must reduce the risk of catching the virus, as well as the seasonal flu.
In order to boost our immune system, we must pack in as much
Vitamin C, B6, B12 and D preferrably through natural sources.
Equally, we must load up on Zinc, Magnesium and to assist the vitamins in ensuring our immune system fires up properly.

2. Remove face masks when not necessary.
Follow all health regulations regarding the use of face masks. However, when practical, remove the masks as re-breathing in carbon dioxide and waste gases will compromise your health and may lead to light headedness, loss of balance/co-ordination and symptons associated with hypoxia.

3. Go easy on hand sanitiser and overly sanitised environments. Overuse of anti-bacterial substances kills friendly bacteria on your hands.
Without the body’s natural defence, you invariably increase the exposure to external bacteria.
Avoid touching non-BPA plastics, since sanitisers promote the absorption of this chemical into your body.

4. Don’t over estimate your physical abilities.
Be mindful that with prolonged inactivity, your body’s ability to lift heaving objects and your body’s lack of flexibility will be reduced.
Avoid throwing yourself back into the same intensity pre-lockdown.
Take baby steps and gradually build up your resistance, strength and flexibility to avoid unnecessary injuries or discomfort.

Follow all protective guidelines and physical distancing responsibly, but be mindful of other important factors to remain healthy and safe.
