The 3 Important Nutrients You Need to Keep Lung Health
Lung Nutrition for Good Lung Health
Welcome, to this short video on lung Health. You need to know which nutrients you need for good lung function. Many elderly die from lack of oxygen or respiratory diseases.
Despite a decrease in lung function as you age, recent studies by researchers have concluded that to slow down this decrease in lung health, you need to give yourself a good dose of these 3 nutrients.
Vitamin D
Vitamin C
Magnesium
The combination of these three nutrients was shown to maintain good lung capacity in people who took them compared with those who did not.
In a recent ebook that I wrote on Asthma, I discuss how to improve your respiratory system to reduce outbreaks of asthma attacks and other respiratory symptoms. The nutrition necessary for strong lungs and bronchioles is discussed.
So where are you going to get Vitamin D. I don’t recommend you get it from milk. Milk despite its commercial push is mucus-forming, high in protein which requires calcium to digest, and is acid-forming.
The sun is the best source of Vitamin D. It only requires you to be out in the open and even in the shade for about ½ hour per day. You can also get vitamin D from cheese and butter, fish, rice dream, and almond milk.
Look at the label on other products and you will see many with natural vitamin D. I don’t like those products that fortified their products with vitamins. The vitamins or minerals in food are out of balance with other nutrients in a way that is good for your health.
If you are driving lower your window to get reflected sunlight. Sunlight coming through car windows is not true sunlight since some of the light colors get filtered out.
Both Vitamin D and Magnesium help the body absorb more Calcium. So, if you want to take a Vitamin D supplement, look for one that has Magnesium and Calcium. Some of the new supplement formulations contain, D, C, Mag, and vitamin K. Vitamin K tells your body where to put the calcium that you have in your bloodstream.
To make sure your lungs stay strong as you age also take a good dose of vitamin C. Take from 1000mg to 2000mg. Eat citrus fruits and juices without sugar. Fruits of all kinds have vitamin C and you should be eating 3-4 fruits daily.
