THE 20-20-20 COVID19 Challenge
Anti-depression and Fitness & Health
Mental illness can be worse than the COVID19 virus, so I decided to make an awareness and support the sufferers and also prevent further damage.
Mechanics:
1. I will nominate 1 person, (I decided Mr. Philippines 2018 3rd Runner-up Michael Antonio) easy for him 🙂
2. Prior to doing the Challenge, check if you are fit to do this else consult your doctor.
3. Prior to the actual Challenge, do some stretching to flex your muscles and prevent injury.
4. Then prepare a video record and find a place for the 20-20-20 push-ups:
4.1 Do 20 diamond push-ups
4.2 Do 20 classic push-ups
4.3 Do 20 Wide grip push-ups.
5. Then appoint someone who will do the next 20-20-20 Challenge.
6. If you volunteer to donate food goods donations, tell me thru messenger.
7. And may God bless us all!
Endorphins act as analgesics, which means they diminish the perception of pain. They also act as sedatives. They are manufactured in your brain, spinal cord, and many other parts of your body and are released in response to brain chemicals called neurotransmitters. The neuron receptors endorphins bind to are the same ones that bind some pain medicines. However, unlike with morphine, the activation of these receptors by the body’s endorphins does not lead to addiction or dependence.
Regular exercise has been proven to:
Reduce stress
Ward off anxiety and feelings of depression
Boost self-esteem
Improve sleep
Exercise also has these added health benefits:
It strengthens your heart.
It increases energy levels.
It lowers blood pressure.
It improves muscle tone and strength.
It strengthens and builds bones.
It helps reduce body fat.
It makes you look fit and healthy.
Is Exercise a Treatment for Clinical Depression?
Research has shown that exercise is an effective but often underused treatment for mild to moderate depression. In addition, exercise outside (with the appropriate sun protection) can help boost levels of vitamin D and your mood.
