Hendrick Health is inviting the community to take a proactive approach to wellness at its upcoming health fair in Abilene.

The Hendrick Health Wellness Fair, themed “Health 101: A Foundation Built on Literacy,” is set for Saturday, May 2 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Mall of Abilene.

Organizers say the free event will feature more than 40 booths where attendees can connect with healthcare professionals and learn about strategies to improve both physical and mental health.

Visitors will have opportunities to learn how to monitor vital signs, attend educational sessions and explore topics including heart attack and stroke awareness, diabetes, nutrition, cancer prevention and community resources for behavioral health.

A blood drive will also be held on-site, with the Hendrick Regional Blood Center bloodmobile available for donations.

Officials say the goal of the event is to empower individuals with knowledge and resources they can use to better manage their health and partner with healthcare providers.
