PITT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Pitt County held its first Spring Discovery Fair today, a free event focused on wellness activities and seasonal safety.
The fair ran from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Office Park Cultural Arts and Recreation Center on Government Circle in Greenville.
It was open to Pitt County residents, including third through fifth graders in the North Pitt School District.
Organizers say the event expands the county’s annual Holiday Safety Fair into a springtime event on recreation, preparedness, and health resources.
“The safety aspect, being active, seeing the different professions they can go into, and seeing an array of people who support them and are happy to see them,” said Jennifer Lanier-Coward, director of Pitt County Cultural Arts and Recreation.
Activities included sports and field day games, bike safety lessons, and a touch-a-truck featuring EMS and fire equipment.
Attendees also learned about water safety, mosquito control, and extreme weather, with food vendors on site.
