Bouldin Creek will soon be home to Submersive’s flagship location—an “immersive art bathhouse,” according to a news release.

The details

Submersive was founded by Corvas Brinkerhoff, also co-founder of immersive art company Meow Wolf. The wellness concept will combine hydrotherapy with art installations. This will include cold plunges, hot baths, saunas and more.

Diving in deeper

The flagship of Submersive will be located on Barton Springs Road and span about 20,000 square feet.

Guests can experience 12 different spaces that offer multi-sensory environments combining immersive artwork with traditional bathing. The goal is therapeutic benefit, according to a news release.

“We’re not building a spa. We’re building a portal,” Brinkerhoff said in a news release. “The bathhouse has always been a place where people go to reset and reconnect. We’re taking that ancient impulse and giving it the full power of immersive art and modern neuroscience. … We are creating not just an entertainment experience or a spa experience, but access to an environment that takes people to an elevated state change.”

Going forward

Before opening in summer 2027, the wellness concept will offer a founding membership waitlist. Founding members will receive access to priority reservations and charter pricing, according to the release.

Quote of note

“Austin appreciates that creative, powerful experiences sit at the intersection of art, community, and wellness. It is a hub for forward thinking individuals who embrace new and world-changing ideas,” Brinkerhoff said. “Submersive was made for this city and this location, steps from Barton Springs, feels almost destined. We’re bringing something the world has never seen before to the heart of Austin.”
