The City of Norwalk’s Town Green filled up with crowds of people on Saturday for the fifth annual NorWALK for Mental Health: Walk + Wellness Fair.
Seventy-five local groups participated in the event that featured activities and speakers who shared their mental health stories.
Organizers with The Norwalk Partnership said it was about bringing everyone together and letting them know that nobody needs to be alone.
“People see there’s help, there’s peer support, there’s traditional treatment and there’s just fun things you can do that are social and engaging that lift your mood,” said Margaret Watt, prevention director of Positive Directions.
“As you get older, you realize the importance of staying in social groups, and it shows the importance of never giving up and being together with people,” said Tanju Kizavul, of Norwalk.
