LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KATV) — If you were looking for a place to learn the ins and outs of medical marijuana in Arkansas, and maybe pick up a little wellness wisdom along the way, a weekend expo in Little Rock aimed to make that easier.

The two-day Arkansas Cannabis and Wellness Expo was held at the Statehouse Convention Center, bringing together cannabis industry leaders and patients with a focus on medical marijuana access and education in the state.

Doctors were on site to help certify new medical marijuana patients and guide attendees through Arkansas’ application process. The event also featured vendors, cultivators and dispensaries, with education centered on how cannabis products are made and used.

“I think it’s important to educate everyone about cannabis and wellness. I mean, we medicate ourselves with prescriptions and sometimes people want natural remedies, and that’s what we’ve got here, is natural remedies,” Bobbi Willis, Marketing Director of the Arkansas Cannabis and Wellness Expo said.

Cannabis was recently rescheduled from Schedule I to Schedule III, a change that could open the door to more users.
