Tiny Trojans ‘power up’ at CHS Health & Wellness Fair – Douglas Now

Coffee High School recently welcomed more than 400 first-grade students for its annual “Tiny Trojan Power Up Day,” an exciting and interactive health and wellness fair focused on building healthy habits early in life.

Hosted by CHS Nutrition & Food Science, Early Childhood Education, Allied Health students, and FCCLA members, the campus was transformed into hands-on learning stations led by CHS students. These mentors guided the “Tiny Trojans” through fun, engaging activities designed to promote lifelong wellness.

From learning about MyPlate guidelines and creating healthy snacks to practicing proper dental hygiene and understanding the importance of bedtime routines, students explored a wide range of health topics. They also built emotional intelligence skills, discovering positive ways to understand and manage their feelings.

Additional stations highlighted essential everyday habits like proper handwashing, making smart beverage choices, and understanding brain health. Physical wellness was a big hit, too, with guided exercises, stretching techniques, and even learning how to check their heart rate.

This event not only empowered younger students with valuable health knowledge but also allowed CHS students to apply their learning in real-world settings while growing as leaders and communicators.

CHS would like to say thank you to the community partners who helped make the day a success: CRMC Foundation, South Georgia Dentistry, Eagle Lake Bonepickers, and the Coffee County School Nutrition Department.
