Camp Springs, Md (7News) — Teacher Appreciation Week is always special but at New Chapel Christian Academy in Camp Springs, Maryland, teachers are being celebrated in a uniquely meaningful way.
Through a program called “Coffee, Tea, and Sanity,” educators are stepping away from the classroom to recharge with massages, facials, therapy sessions, and customized coffee and tea service.
The initiative, led by Dr. Narisa of Nurturing Possibilities in partnership with Carter G. Cares, is part of a year-round wellness movement aimed at supporting educators and others in high-stress roles.
“Wellness is not a privilege it’s a necessity,” Dr. Narisa emphasized, noting the importance of caring for those who spend their time caring for others.
With help from local businesses, the event created a spa-like experience right inside the school, something Principal Kion says his staff deeply deserves.
“I don’t know if there’s a group more deserving than our teachers,” he shared.
More than just a one-day celebration, Coffee, Tea, and Sanity is designed to remind educators to pause, recharge, and prioritize their well-being—not just this week, but all year long.
