Wellness House of Annapolis will launch its 2026 Wellness on the Water season on Tuesday, June 9, giving local cancer patients, caregivers, and family members a chance to spend an afternoon on the Chesapeake Bay with volunteer captains from Eastport Yacht Club.
The program pairs Wellness House members with Eastport Yacht Club captains and crews who donate their boats and time for a day built around relaxation, connection and time on the water.
Wellness House of Annapolis provides free, non-medical support services for cancer patients and their families. The organization serves nearly 2,000 active members and offers about 40 therapeutic programs focused on well-being during and after a cancer diagnosis.
Wellness on the Water has become one of its most popular summer programs, offering members access to the peace and calm of boating that many would not otherwise experience.
The June 9 event will begin with lunch at Eastport Yacht Club before members head out for an afternoon of sailing, powerboating or simply relaxing on the water.
In 2025, nearly 150 Wellness House members and guests took part in the program with help from more than 45 Eastport Yacht Club captains and crews.
“Our boat captain was wonderful. He asked what direction we wanted to go and what we most wanted to see. He provided rich history of the waterways we were exploring. Thank you for the gift of your time and talents!” one Wellness on the Water cruiser said.
