PITTSFIELD (WGEM) – Blessing Health System will offer a no-cost cholesterol and wellness screening in June.
Those interested in a screening can register for any 15-minute time slot between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m, on June 4.
Blessing Health officials said a 12-hour fast is required for the screening.
Screenings will include total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, fasting glucose, blood pressure, body composition, and an A1C screening for those with a history of diabetes/pre-diabetes, or elevated fasting glucose.
According to the American Heart Association, individuals 20 years of age or older should have their cholesterol checked every 5 years; those with known risk need more frequent monitoring.
